Water Wise In the Home

Charleston Public Library - Auditorium

  There is more you can do than keeping the water off while you brush your teeth - come see an interactive presentation on how you can not only save money in the home, but how you can save water in unique and innovative ways. The workshop will officially start at 6pm, but please feel free to come early, enjoy some refreshments and network!

    Rain Water Catchment Systems

  This workshop, held at the Kudu Coffee Courtyard will be presented by Hilke Development - a local green builder that includes large-scale rain water catchment systems. Come listen as Ben Hilke discusses previous projects, design concepts and material resources. Enjoy a Kudu Coffee while you are there!

Located at the mixed-use development of One Cool Blow, this workshop will show you the rights and wrongs of green roof systems. Presented by Living Roofs Inc. and set on a rooftop overlooking the Cooper River bridge, this workshop will have a visual example to learn from followed by a social mixer overlooking the city lights of Charleston.   The Charleston Waterkeeper frequently travels the waterways to ensure that pollution is identified, reported and mediated quickly. Come join us for an evening harbor boat ride to learn what the Waterkeeper does. Beverages on deck!  
   

Rain Barrels!

The rain barrel workshop will take place at 10 Storehouse Row. Light breakfast will be provided. This workshop includes a short powerpoint presentation on how rain barrels and rain gardens benefit the homeowner's backyard followed by a hands-on tutorial on how to assemble your own rain barrel. Purchase a rain barrel kit for $75 or simply come to watch. Cloudstream, a local company that sells rain barrels will be on-site should you wish to purchase a ready-made rain barrel.
