HUMAN CONNECTIONS PROGRAM
Reaching out to those in need helps to strengthen our communities, assists individuals in time of need and reconnects individuals across a broad range of backgrounds. Our Human Connections program is the heart and soul of our work and in 2009 we will strive to reach out to more families in need.
The Sustainability Institute offers weatherizations for low-income homes that leak a tremendous amount of energy (e.g. conditioned air) through the building envelope. With the help of neighborhood associations, the Institute can identify homes in need of a weatherization. With our Weatherization Crew of volunteers, the S.I. Staff will install energy-efficient and water-saving fixtures into the home free-of-charge to the homeowner or resident.
This is one of our primary outreach programs and is worth every second spent outfitting these homes to be more energy efficient. Our aim is to help save residents money on their utility bills so that they have more expendable income for other life-necessities or for re-investing back into their communities.

If you have a home over 3,000 square feet and would like it to be more energy efficient, contact us for an energy audit today. An energy audit on your home will provide a FREE weatherization for a low-income family. Connect to those in need and become more sustainable in your own home simultaneously.

DONATE A WEATHERIZATION
Don't have a home over 3,000 square feet? Not to worry! You can DONATE a weatherization by mailing a check for $150 to The Sutainability Institute. This donation will include the materials necessary to weatherize a low-income home, provide you information about the family and impact being realized and a special mention in our e-newsletter. VOLUNTEER FOR A WEATHERIZATION
Sign up for our Weatherization Crew! When an opportunity arises to assist on a weatherization, you will be notified via email. Weatherizations typically last a few hours and require getting your hands dirty. Spend less time in front of the tube and make a difference with your time. Join our Crew today!
